USC Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy is looking for a Project Specialist to join the team! This project specialist will specifically assist with administrative tasks related to grant submissions and active grant management. The project specialist will help manage grant budgets and progress reports. Additional responsibilities may include conducting literature reviews, assisting with data management, and preparing presentations related to grant-supported research projects.

This position would support the work of the NICU Therapy Lab in the Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational therapy. The NICU Therapy Lab seeks to better understand the impact of the environment, medical conditions, and interventions on brain structure and functional outcome of the developing infant. The project specialist will assist with submitting IRBs, managing multiple NIH-funded projects, and assisting with data organization for publications and presentations, among other tasks.

Job Accountabilities:

• Assists in building and maintaining study samples. Disseminates information about the project. Screens participants by assessing eligibility for research protocols and potential for commitment to project. Develops and implements sample enhancement strategies. Monitors participant progression throughout study and conducts evaluation at end of study.
• Contributes to the documentation and update of study procedures. Coordinates design, revision, approval and production of research instruments and related materials such as consent forms.
• Manage grant budget by requesting reimbursements and managing consultant fees in coordination with Division Grant Research Administrator.
• Writes status reports of study efforts and works with investigators on the writing of articles, research papers and other documentation of study results.
• Researches and recommends specialized equipment purchases and hardware/software installations and modifications. Operates and maintains very specialized equipment and trains others in equipment usage.
• Complete progress reports and other needed items related to grant administration in a timely manner.
• Assist with data collection, data management, and presentation of findings related to grant-supported projects.

What makes you stand out?
Bachelor’s degree in related field.
At least 2 years of experience working in research and supporting grant administration.

Additional Information:
Activities to ensure compliance at the university and national level, including IRB, conflict of interest, legal statements, data transfer agreements and protection of human subjects and research data, data safety monitoring, etc. Activities related to databases to improve efficiency and ensure collection of data needed for each study.

The hourly rate range for this position is $29.40 - 35.90. Minimum Skills: Directly related education and experience to be able to advise on project procedures and analysis techniques.
