The Annual Fund is an annual alumni participation drive, raising funds to keep the USC Chan Division on the cutting edge of education, research and practice. These funds provide a mechanism for the Division to reach entrepreneurial goals in program development which are not typically funded by federal grants and tuition.
Alumni participation in the Annual Fund is a statement that alumni endorse and support of the work of the division. A gift of any amount makes a difference. The number of alumni who participate in the Annual Fund is even more important than the dollar amount of the donations, mainly because prospective students, faculty recruits and major donors who are considering joining the USC Chan Division view alumni participation as a significant measure of confidence in an academic program. Annual Fund participation is also a key factor in the ranking of universities by influential media such as U.S. News & World Report and is a widely publicized statistic throughout the university.
A strong alumni support base creates an upward spiral with an outward ripple effect which creates opportunities for the division to support student, faculty and alumni education, practice and research.
