Chan Division Computer Help | Configuring Outlook on Windows

Configure Outlook 2010/2013

If you would like to access your Chan Division Exchange account using Outlook on your home Windows PC, and you are running Office 2010/2013, use these instructions to configure Outlook.

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2010/2013.
  2. At the Outlook 2010/2013 Startup box, click Next.
  3. At the Account Configuration box, click Next.
  4. Check Manually configure server settings or additional server types, then click Next.
  5. Select Microsoft Exchange, then click Next.
  6. On the next screen:
    • In the Microsoft Exchange server box, type mail.osot.usc.edu.
    • In the User Name box, type your Last Name, First Name.

    Click More Settings…

  7. If a Microsoft Office Outlook warning box appears, click OK.
  8. If a Microsoft Exchange Server dialog box appears, click Cancel.
  9. Click on the Connection tab.
  10. Check Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP, and then click Exchange Proxy Settings…

    • In the https:// Connection settings box, type mail.osot.usc.edu.
    • Check On fast networks, connect using HTTP first, and then connect using TCP/IP.
    • Change Proxy authentication settings to Basic Authentication.
  11. At the Microsoft Exchange Proxy Settings box, click OK.
  12. At the Microsoft Exchange box, Click OK.
  13. At the Microsoft Office Outlook restart warning box, click OK.
  14. At the Add New E-mail Account box, click Next.
  15. Click Finish.
