Christine Turnbull, OTD, OTR/L is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Occupational Therapy at the USC University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis on infant development and research at the University of California, Santa Cruz. She received both her Master of Arts in occupational therapy and Doctorate of Occupational Therapy degrees from the University of Southern California. She completed her doctoral residency and fellowship with the California Leadership in Education Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (CA-LEND) at the USC UCEDD at CHLA, where her doctoral portfolio focused on occupational therapy’s role in early identification of developmental disabilities and delays.
Dr. Turnbull has completed USC Chan Sensory Integration Continuing Education Certificate Program and is completing training in the DIR/Floortime model. She specializes in providing occupational therapy consultation and intervention to infants, children, and adolescents with co-occurring mental health and developmental disabilities, and enjoys collaborating within interdisciplinary teams. Dr. Turnbull currently participates in the Behavior in Babies Clinic, School Aged Medication Management Clinic, and is expanding occupational therapy consultation and services within the growing Child and Adolescent Psychiatry program at the UCEDD. She is also an active clinician with the Boone Fetter Autism Clinic, an Autism Treatment Network site which operates as a diagnostic, clinical and research center for autism and other Neurodevelopmental and behavioral disorders. She is developing expertise in infant and early childhood mental health, with specific interests in developmental trauma and attachment. She is committed to providing child and family-centered care within her practice.
