Biography

Lucy Hosoda completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of San Diego. She then pursued both her Master of Arts in Occupational Therapy and Doctorate of Occupational Therapy degrees at the University of Southern California. Dr. Hosoda completed her clinical residency at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center where she provided inpatient rehabilitation services to a neurological population. There, her doctoral project focused on educating staff and creating an evidence-based resource highlighting occupational therapy’s unique role to systematically assess, treat, and progress patients with functional cognitive deficits through the use of occupation. Dr. Hosoda has furthered her clinical experience in a multitude of settings including acute rehabilitation units, acute care, outpatient neurorehabilitation, home health, early intervention, and outpatient pediatrics.

Dr. Hosoda has a special interest in working with underserved populations and developing sustainable therapy programs globally by collaborating with local communities. She has led and participated in occupational therapy related projects in countries including Namibia, Tanzania, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Switzerland.

Dr. Hosoda has received advanced practice approval by the California Board of Occupational Therapy in Physical Agent Modalities. She is also certified in Neuro-IFRAH Treatment & Management of Adults with Hemiplegia from Stroke or Brain Injury.
