NPNL Publishes in Scientific Reports

May 5, 2017

NPNL’s Julia Anglin, Dr. Liew and Alumni Taisei Sugiyama published a paper in Scientific Reports titled “Visuomotor adaptation in head-mounted virtual reality versus conventional training”. The article explores the explicit and implicit strategies used when performing a a visuomotor adaptation task in an immersive virtual reality environment and compares the strategies to those used in a conventional training environment. Our results showed that the overall timecourse of adaption was similar in both immersive virtual reality and conventional training. However, immersive virtual reality participants utilized a greater cognitive strategy than conventional training, while conventional training participants engaged in greater implicit learning.
