Lifestyle Redesign® Smoking Cessation Program
This treatment will enable you to quit smoking in ways that are safe, realistic, and sustainable. You will incorporate new health-promoting, enjoyable habits and routines into your lifestyle while eliminating health deterring habits — ultimately achieving greater satisfaction and pleasure in what you do each day.
Session Topics Include
- Identify and manage your physical, emotional, and social triggers
- Modify your work and home environment to decrease cues to smoking
- Address your psychosocial and emotional issues related to smoking
- Prevent and control chronic conditions which are a result of a smoking habit
- Find healthy pleasures and non-tobacco rewards
- Learn and practice stress management and relaxation techniques
- Incorporate exercise and physical activity into your weekly routine
- Develop healthy eating habits
- Increase your energy and improve your overall health
- Balance your work, rest and play
How It Works
- Meet for 10 weeks in 1 hour group sessions or 30 minute private sessions.
- Partner with your OT to customize a healthy quitting plan that works for you.
- Reorganize current routines and develop new ones to create a balance of healthy habits that do not include smoking.
- The result = greater energy, improved health, a better quality of life, and decreased dependency on nicotine.
