Seminars and Presentations
Global Initiatives Seminars are organized to provide practical information that is focused on relevant topics identified by our current and past international students. Our previous topics and panels have included the following:
- Navigating the NBCOT exam with the Director of Credentialing Services at NBCOT
- Thriving After Graduation: Tips for Succeeding in the First Year of Practice as an International Alumni (panel featuring recent international alumni and local occupational therapy employers)
Global Initiatives also regularly hosts special presentations featuring distinguished international scholars and practitioners. Recent presentations have featured Mapheyedi Motimele, lecturer at the University of Cape Town (South Africa), on “Disability and Violence: A Narrative Inquiry into the Journey of Healing,” and Frank Kronenberg, co-founder of the movement Occupational Therapists without Borders.
