Course Description

OT 610 is a 4-unit graduate course that offers participants intensive small group experiences through both an academic seminar and closely supervised hands-on clinical practice. In the seminars, participants discuss sensory integration (SI) theory and research in detail, problem-solve individual treatment cases, and learn the intervention concepts originated by A. Jean Ayres. During the hands-on intervention sessions, participants intervene using SI techniques, systematically document progress, generate progress reports as needed, consult with parents and teachers, and collaborate with other professionals in the community. Participants receive direct supervision in all aspects of clinical practice from a team of master clinicians trained in SI.
