The Occupational Therapist works as a member of a multidisciplinary team and provides assessment, consultation, and direct occupational therapy services to students within educational, developmental, and functional parameters. S.P.O.T. (Skills. Play. Occupation. Therapy.) is a fun and unique sensory integration clinic. High-quality therapy is provided to a diverse population of children who range from subtle, fine motor delays to non-speaking autistic clients. Clients are between 5 months and 15 years; the majority are between 3 and 10 years of age. This position presents an exciting opportunity for highly motivated and creative OTs to join a growing pediatric private practice in an outpatient, therapist-owned clinic in Sherman Oaks.
In this unique OT clinic environment, each family is seen privately in their own gym with suspended equipment and outdoor space. Due to this arrangement, parents and caregivers typically attend all sessions with their child. Therefore, therapists and children/families are able to build a warm relationship and experience decreased distractions by having their sessions in a private room. ABOUT THE POSITION(S)
As an Early Childhood & School-Age Occupational Therapist, you will provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to a diverse population of pediatric clients. RESPONSIBILITIES/OPPORTUNITIES
Provide occupational therapy evaluation, treatment, consultation, and caregiver coaching services for pediatric clients.

Use relationship-based, neurodiversity-affirming, and strengths-based approaches that honor each child’s unique developmental profile while promoting regulation, engagement, autonomy, and meaningful participation.
Collaborate closely with mental health therapists, speech-language pathologists, educational therapists, psychologists, physicians, educators, and other community providers.
Provide consultation and support to parents and caregivers to strengthen their understanding of their child’s developmental and sensory needs.
Participate in regular continuing education opportunities to develop and strengthen your clinical skills.
Attend Monday team meetings for opportunities to learn and connect with our multidisciplinary team and receive ongoing case consultation and collaboration with experienced professionals, including Dr. Bryson.
Collaborate with schools and educational teams, including participation in school observations, consultation, and support around IEP-related needs when appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS
Hold a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy and be licensed (or license-eligible) as an Occupational Therapist in the State of California.
Demonstrate experience working with infants, children, adolescents, and families across a range of developmental profiles and support needs.
Have experience supporting Autistic children and other neurodivergent populations through a neurodiversity-affirming lens.
Have a strong foundation in sensory processing, sensory integration theory, nervous system regulation, and child development.
Support children with sensory processing differences, emotional and behavioral challenges, executive functioning difficulties, learning differences, developmental delays, trauma histories, anxiety, and co-occurring diagnoses.
Familiarity with Interpersonal Neurobiology and the work of Dr. Tina Payne Bryson and Dr. Dan Siegel preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly when collaborating with families, educators, physicians, and multidisciplinary professionals.

Assessment, diagnosis, and treatment with documentation of motor deficits, functional impairments, sensory impairments, and difficulties in motor skills primarily in the pediatric population.
Possess general knowledge of child development to assess and refer families to other disciplines when appropriate.
Assess a client’s physical condition using a variety of standardized tools and objective/observational measures and identify primary impairments to determine a plan for treatment.
Utilize multiple frames of reference to inform practice including but not limited to: neurodevelopmental, developmental biomechanical, sensory integration, motor learning, cognitive, and rehabilitation.
Create tailored treatment plans to address client’s limitations, taking into account their age, abilities, client and family goals, and other medical/physical factors.
Apply a range of therapy techniques to address presented conditions (including tailored exercises, passive and active stretching, basic level of gait analysis and training).
Patient/caregiver training in the use of assistive technology devices, mobility devices, orthotic or prosthetic devices.
Prescribe home exercise programs for patient/caregiver to promote carryover and continued progress in the community.
Adapt environments and processes to enhance functional performance of clients.
Actively participate in professional development including continuing education opportunities provided through the organization, from outside providers, as well as through opportunities offered as part of regular clinical supervision.
Maintain impeccable documentation. Therapists have a dedicated documentation hour built into their schedule each day and are expected to use this time for report writing, including but not limited to evaluations, progress reports, school district annual IEP reports, and assistive technology. Therapists are expected to ensure that treatment notes are recorded accurately and in a timely in the electronic health record system, according to the policies of NAPA Center.

Requirements:
Minimum qualifications include completion of an Occupational Therapy degree, from an accredited University.

Responsibilities -

Company Description: We are a multi-disciplinary hybrid Early Intervention/Early Start (Birth-3) therapy agency that provides therapy services (SLP, OT, PT, and Child Development) to our young clientele in a natural environment/home-based therapy model. Both English and Spanish clientele are provided services in both a consultative and direct therapy model on a weekly and bi-monthly basis and as authorized by our local Regional Center.
Job Description
- Provide evaluations, reports, goals, direct therapy and consultation services to both Early Start children and their families
- Implement and collaborate with trans-disciplinary team services to children with a variety of developmental and diagnostic indicators (Autism, Down Syndrome, etc)
- Attend and report at multi-disciplinary team meetings on a bi-annual and annual basis as requested and indicated by the Early Start program
- Provide consultation services to parents/caregivers, teachers, and to community specialists and professionals regarding client progress and recommendations
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
- Must possess current California license for Occupational Therapy
- Experience with diverse developmental delays and disorders in infants and toddlers
- Ability to drive to all home-based therapy appointments in the assigned area & provide proof of a valid California driver’s license and auto insurance
- Ability to conduct developmental evaluations in all domains (ex. gross motor, fine motor, social-emotional, communication and adaptive skills) as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Spanish skills are an asset, but not required.
- Strong report writing skills for multi-disciplinary reports
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to provide tele-practice coaching
- Demonstrate solid professional communication and the ability to work with a variety of therapists, specialists, families and community professionals (Regional Center, social workers, psychologists, physicians)
- Must possess proof of liability insurance
- Must possess proof of a valid California driver’s license
- Willing to relocate to area
