Alzheimer’s Los Angeles (ALZLA) provides education, support, and care management services to families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias across Los Angeles County. Historically, ALZLA’s case management services were provided at no cost to families and funded entirely through philanthropic support. With the launch of our Enhanced Care Management (ECM) program, ALZLA has entered a new phase: delivering contracted, fee-for-service care management to health plan members in partnership with managed care organizations.

ALZLA is actively growing its portfolio of health plan contracts and expects case management to become an increasingly significant, revenue-generating component of the organization’s overall service model over the next several years. This role is central to that growth.

Position Summary

The Vice President, Healthcare Services will provide strategic and operational leadership across ALZLA’s full case management portfolio, including the Enhanced Care Management (ECM) program, with direct accountability for growing ALZLA’s contracted, revenue-generating relationships with health plans and other healthcare payers and providers.

This is a newly created role designed to bring senior-level payer and healthcare-system expertise to ALZLA’s case management function, and to build organizational capacity as case management shifts from a fully philanthropy-funded service to a blended model that includes contracted healthcare revenue. The VP will work closely with, mentor, and help develop the case management leadership within the organization, providing coaching, delegating expanded scope over time, and creating a clear runway for continued leadership growth.

This is a hybrid job, requiring in person work in and around the Los Angeles area.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the healthcare services training team, and all ALZLA case management services, including both philanthropically funded services and contracted, fee-for-service programs such as ECM.
• Lead the identification, pursuit, and negotiation of new contracts with health plans, managed care organizations, and other healthcare payers and providers to expand ALZLA’s revenue-generating case management services.
• Serve as ALZLA’s senior-level point of contact with health plan and provider partners; build and maintain relationships with key payer and provider decision-makers across the Los Angeles healthcare landscape.
• Partner with Finance to develop and manage budgets, rate proposals, and financial models for contracted case management programs, ensuring services are priced and delivered sustainably.
• Ensure case management programs meet all applicable regulatory, contractual, and quality requirements, including health plan reporting and audit obligations.
• Develop and monitor performance metrics and outcomes data across case management programs, using data to drive continuous improvement and to support contract renewals and new business development.
• Build internal infrastructure (staffing model, workflows, technology, training) needed to scale case management as a growing share of ALZLA’s overall program portfolio.
• Collaborate with the Chief Philanthropy Officer, development team and other program executives to ensure alignment between philanthropically funded and contract-funded case management services.
• Represent ALZLA in relevant industry, healthcare, and managed care forums to build the organization’s visibility and credibility as a healthcare partner.
• Oversee professional outreach, development and implementation of training programs for professionals (nurses, physicians, care managers, social workers, homecare workers, etc.)
• Deliver strategic guidance, training, and technical assistance to healthcare organizations and professionals, as needed.
• Serve as the ALZLA Chief Privacy Officer for HIPAA compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., health administration, social work, nursing, public health); Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 8–10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare or human services, including experience leading a revenue-generating program or service line within a nonprofit organization.
• Demonstrated experience contracting with, or working within, health plans, managed care organizations, or other healthcare payers — including familiarity with how providers and funders of healthcare are organized and how payer contracting and reimbursement work.
• Experience managing budgets, financial performance, and contract-based revenue targets.
• Proven track record of developing and mentoring managers, with the ability to grow the leadership capacity of existing staff.
• Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills, with experience representing an organization to external partners at a senior level.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with California’s CalAIM initiative, Enhanced Care Management, or Community Supports programs.
• Familiarity with dementia care, aging services, or chronic condition case management.
• Experience in a growth-stage nonprofit or mission-driven organization transitioning to blended funding models.

• New health plan or provider contracts are identified, negotiated, and/or expanded, growing ALZLA’s contracted case management revenue.
• Case management leadership has clear roles and responsibilities and development plans in place and effective management processes to allocate resources across case management programs.

The Center for Connection, founded and led by Dr. Tina Payne Bryson, is hiring pediatric Occupational Therapists to join our flagship Pasadena office. Dr. Bryson, co-author (with Dr. Dan Siegel) of THE WHOLE-BRAIN CHILD and NO-DRAMA DISCIPLINE, has helped bring the principles of Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB) to a wide audience of parents and professionals alike. The Center for Connection is built on this framework, offering clinicians the opportunity to practice within a relational, neurobiologically informed model, with ongoing opportunities for consultation, training, and collaboration with Dr. Bryson.

Join our multidisciplinary, collaborative team to provide relationship-based, regulation-focused occupational therapy services to early childhood and school-age clients. Our model brings together professionals across disciplines—including mental health, speech and language, assessment, occupational therapy, and educational therapy—to support high-quality, coordinated care through close collaboration. This integrated approach allows clinicians to develop thoughtful, holistic interventions that prioritize connection, regulation, participation, and each child’s unique developmental profile.

ABOUT THE POSITION(S)

As an Early Childhood & School-Age Occupational Therapist, you will provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to a diverse population of pediatric clients. You will support children in developing the skills needed to participate more fully in daily routines, relationships, learning environments, and meaningful occupations. Within a holistic care framework, you will also provide parent/caregiver consultation and collaborate closely with other professionals involved in each child’s care.

RESPONSIBILITIES/OPPORTUNITIES

Provide occupational therapy evaluation, treatment, consultation, and caregiver coaching services for pediatric clients.
Develop individualized intervention plans that support nervous system regulation, sensory processing, interoceptive awareness, emotional regulation, executive functioning, motor development, social participation, adaptive living skills, and participation across home, school, and community environments.
Use relationship-based, neurodiversity-affirming, and strengths-based approaches that honor each child’s unique developmental profile while promoting regulation, engagement, autonomy, and meaningful participation.
Collaborate closely with mental health therapists, speech-language pathologists, educational therapists, psychologists, physicians, educators, and other community providers.
Provide consultation and support to parents and caregivers to strengthen their understanding of their child’s developmental and sensory needs.
Participate in regular continuing education opportunities to develop and strengthen your clinical skills.
Attend Monday team meetings for opportunities to learn and connect with our multidisciplinary team and receive ongoing case consultation and collaboration with experienced professionals, including Dr. Bryson.
Collaborate with schools and educational teams, including participation in school observations, consultation, and support around IEP-related needs when appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS

Hold a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy and be licensed (or license-eligible) as an Occupational Therapist in the State of California.
Demonstrate experience working with infants, children, adolescents, and families across a range of developmental profiles and support needs.
Have experience supporting Autistic children and other neurodivergent populations through a neurodiversity-affirming lens.
Have a strong foundation in sensory processing, sensory integration theory, nervous system regulation, and child development.
Support children with sensory processing differences, emotional and behavioral challenges, executive functioning difficulties, learning differences, developmental delays, trauma histories, anxiety, and co-occurring diagnoses.
Familiarity with Interpersonal Neurobiology and the work of Dr. Tina Payne Bryson and Dr. Dan Siegel preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly when collaborating with families, educators, physicians, and multidisciplinary professionals.
Demonstrate a personal and professional commitment to justice, equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and neurodiversity-affirming care.

Responsibilities:
Assessment, diagnosis, and treatment with documentation of motor deficits, functional impairments, sensory impairments, and difficulties in motor skills primarily in the pediatric population.

Possess general knowledge of child development to assess and refer families to other disciplines when appropriate.

Assess a client’s physical condition using a variety of standardized tools and objective/observational measures and identify primary impairments to determine a plan for treatment.

Utilize multiple frames of reference to inform practice including but not limited to: neurodevelopmental, developmental biomechanical, sensory integration, motor learning, cognitive, and rehabilitation.

Create tailored treatment plans to address client’s limitations, taking into account their age, abilities, client and family goals, and other medical/physical factors.

Apply a range of therapy techniques to address presented conditions (including tailored exercises, passive and active stretching, basic level of gait analysis and training). 
Patient/caregiver training in the use of assistive technology devices, mobility devices, orthotic or prosthetic devices.

Prescribe home exercise programs for patient/caregiver to promote carryover and continued progress in the community.

Adapt environments and processes to enhance functional performance of clients.

Actively participate in professional development including continuing education opportunities provided through the organization, from outside providers, as well as through opportunities offered as part of regular clinical supervision.

Maintain impeccable documentation. Therapists have a dedicated documentation hour built into their schedule each day and are expected to use this time for report writing, including but not limited to evaluations, progress reports, school district annual IEP reports, and assistive technology. Therapists are expected to ensure that treatment notes are recorded accurately and in a timely in the electronic health record system, according to the policies of NAPA Center.

Act as a member of an interdisciplinary team to create a comprehensive developmental approach to client-centered care. 

Develop rapport with clients to build a relationship of trust and mutual respect.
Work closely with administrative staff to manage the schedule and ensure that time is being used productively.

Provide input into the development of clinical practices and procedures.

Act in accordance with all company, legal and industry policies and ethics.

Comply with all professional development requirements for maintenance of registration as an Occupational Therapist with the appropriate licensing board.

Requirements:
Minimum qualifications include completion of an Occupational Therapy degree, from an accredited University.

Strong clinical experience - at least 2 years post graduate OT experience preferred, preferably in a pediatric setting with exposure to children and/or young adults with complex disabilities.

Background clearance by the DOJ and FBI.

Initial TB test clearance.

CPR and First Aid certificates.

Current license with the appropriate licensing board. 

Good physical health and fitness, including the ability to frequently perform, on a daily basis, the following movements over a 6-8 hour period without experiencing pain or abnormal fatigue:

Lift, push or pull up to and including 50 pounds with hands and wrists as therapeutic handling is manually intensive

Independently transfer dependent patients up to 85 pounds

Independently offer contact guard assistance for ambulatory patients of up to 125 pounds

Maintain extended periods of standing and/or sitting on the floor for up to 7 hours per day

Move from floor to standing position back to floor frequently (6-7 hours) throughout the day

Create a safe, professional, and supportive environment where clients, families and colleagues feel empowered to succeed.

Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with clients and other medical professionals.
