Pediatric Occupational Therapist - Clinic, Home, Schools - Sherman Oaks, CA

Behavior Trend is a premium, multidisciplinary therapy provider serving children across home, school, and center-based settings. Our specialized early childhood program (ages 0–6) focuses on school readiness, developmental growth, and individualized care within a supportive, collaborative environment.

We are currently seeking a passionate Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our growing team. This is a part-time role with the opportunity to grow into full-time as our program expands.

Position Overview

The Occupational Therapist will provide evaluation and treatment services to infants, toddlers, and young children with developmental delays. This role focuses on building fine motor, sensory processing, self-care, and functional skills through evidence-based, play-based interventions.

Services are delivered across home, school, and clinic settings, with a strong emphasis on early intervention (0–3 population).

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and assessments
  • Assess children’s physical, sensory, and self-care needs
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Provide intervention targeting:
    • Fine and gross motor development
    • Sensory processing and integration
    • Self-care and adaptive skills (feeding, dressing, daily routines)
    • Functional play and developmental milestones
  • Utilize evidence-based techniques including:

    • Sensory integration strategies
    • Hand strengthening and coordination exercises
    • Adaptive equipment training
    • Cognitive and developmental skill-building interventions
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (BCBAs, behavior technicians, caregivers)
  • Provide parent coaching and education to support carryover at home
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation
  • Participate in team meetings and support a collaborative clinical environment

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program
  • Active California Occupational Therapy license (BOT) in good standing
  • Completion of Level I and Level II fieldwork
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with infants/toddlers (0–3) and children with developmental delays
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Sensory processing
    • Early childhood development
    • Feeding and self-care skills

Requirements

  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Valid Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and clean driving record
  • Ability to pass DOJ/FBI background clearance
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Up-to-date immunizations (TDap, Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Polio, etc.)
  • Negative TB test
  • Ability to:
    • Sit, kneel, bend, walk, and actively engage with children
    • Sit on the floor for extended periods of time
    • Physically participate in child-led, play-based therapy
