Configuring Outlook 2010/2013 on Windows
If you would like to access your Chan Division Exchange account using Outlook on your home Windows PC, and you are running Office 2010/2013, use these instructions to configure Outlook.
- Open Microsoft Outlook 2010/2013.
- At the Outlook 2010/2013 Startup box, click Next.
- At the Account Configuration box, click Next.
- Check Manually configure server settings or additional server types, then click Next.
- Select Microsoft Exchange, then click Next.
- On the next screen:
- In the Microsoft Exchange server box, type mail.osot.usc.edu.
- In the User Name box, type your Last Name, First Name.
Click More Settings…
- If a Microsoft Office Outlook warning box appears, click OK.
- If a Microsoft Exchange Server dialog box appears, click Cancel.
- Click on the Connection tab.
Check Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP, and then click Exchange Proxy Settings…
- In the https:// Connection settings box, type mail.osot.usc.edu.
- Check On fast networks, connect using HTTP first, and then connect using TCP/IP.
- Change Proxy authentication settings to Basic Authentication.
- At the Microsoft Exchange Proxy Settings box, click OK.
- At the Microsoft Exchange box, Click OK.
- At the Microsoft Office Outlook restart warning box, click OK.
- At the Add New E-mail Account box, click Next.
- Click Finish.
