The Lifestyle Redesign Webinar Series features a variety of speakers and topics that highlight the potential of the Lifestyle Redesign intervention framework, whether that be novel approaches to practice, innovative research, or noteworthy curricular developments. These webinars are recorded and made available for on-demand viewing for a nominal fee. General information about how to access on-demand webinars and how to claim CEU credit can be found in the drop-downs below.

Accessing On-Demand Webinars
- Navigate to the registration page for the on-demand webinar you would like to view.
- Select the registration option that applies to you. Enter your contact and billing information.
- If you indicate you are an AOTA member, you will be asked to provide your AOTA membership number. This is subject to verification.

In order to receive a copy of your CEU certificate for viewing on-demand webinars, you must watch the entire webinar recording and complete both post-webinar surveys within 30 days of purchase.
To complete post-webinar surveys:

- Upon finishing the recording, a link to the post-webinar surveys will pop up in place of the recording. Click the link to complete and submit the anonymous webinar evaluation survey.
- Upon submitting the first survey, you will be prompted to complete the webinar learning activity and provide your contact information. It is recommended that you use the same email used to register for the on-demand webinar to reduce delays in processing your certificate.
You will receive an electronic CEU certificate to the email provided within 2-3 weeks of submitting both surveys. Certificates will not be provided to anyone who did not register to access the on-demand webinar.

12 Years of Lifestyle Redesign® at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Medical Center

View this webinar to learn about how occupational therapists at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Medical Center are applying Lifestyle Redesign in an outpatient neurologic condition-focused setting and how this program is unique from other outpatient programs. The speakers will highlight lessons learned, challenges, and successes over 12 years of program development and expansion for clients with neurological disabilities in a safety net setting. The webinar will provide insight into how the speakers tailor their care to meet the needs of a predominantly low socioeconomic status, Latinx/é population, including overcoming language and literacy barriers, food and housing insecurity, lack of community participation, and limited health literacy.

About the Speakers: Michal S. Atkins & Monica Becerril
Michal S. Atkins, MA, OTR/L
With 45 years of experience, Ms. Atkins is as enthusiastic about the profession as she was when she began her diverse career. She has served as an Occupational Therapist Clinical Instructor at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Medical Center (RLANRC) in Los Angeles, California for 37 years on the inpatient Spinal Cord Injury Service. Since 2002, Ms. Atkins has collaborated with the USC Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy Lifestyle Redesign team, initially as a consultant and later as a RLANRC, on-site Study Team Director for the Lifestyle Redesign for Pressure Ulcer Prevention Study (PUPS).
Ms. Atkins co-created and has served as the co-director of the Lifestyle Redesign outpatient programs at RLANRC since 2012. In this role, she supervises staff and students while treating clients with neurological impairments and various chronic medical conditions. OTAC 2012 Practice Award recipient, Ms. Atkins has lectured nationally and internationally. She is also the author and co-author of chapters and articles in occupational therapy textbooks, focusing on Lifestyle Redesign and spinal cord injury.
Monica Becerril, MA, OTR/L
Monica Becerril is an expert occupational therapist with over 30 years of experience at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center (RLANRC) in Los Angeles, California. Throughout her career, she has worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds, addressing challenges across the healthcare continuum, including physical, cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and contextual.
Raised and residing in the Los Angeles County Latinx community, Monica deeply understands her clients’ unique challenges. She is committed to fostering resilience and promoting independence in the lives of those she serves. Her passion lies in serving her community and empowering individuals on their journey to recovery, health, and well-being. Ms. Becerril is an OTAC 2018 Practice Award recipient and has lectured on OT topics such as Lifestyle Redesign, diabetes, and arthritis. Additionally, she has co-authored chapters in several occupational therapy textbooks.

About the Speaker: Samantha Valasek, OTD, OTR/L, CTTS, ADHD-RSP
Dr. Samantha Valasek is a licensed occupational therapist with a specialization in addressing the needs of neurodivergent individuals, including those who are autistic or have ADHD, OCD or other neurodevelopmental differences. Dr. Valasek works with adults and adolescents to improve their daily living and ability to pursue milestone achievements through a holistic, collaborative, goal-oriented approach. Her areas of clinical expertise include assessment of functional cognition, sensory processing, executive function skills training, environmental modifications, compensatory strategies, habit and routine formation, and accommodations in the school and workplace. Her work is focused on supporting clients who experience executive function (thinking), sensory processing and emotional regulation (feeling), and behavioral (doing) challenges to live more full and meaningful lives. She guides her clients in developing the practical skills, strategies, and adjustments that support sustainable participation in real-life contexts. She loves working collaboratively with the other clinicians at Spectrum Psych Los Angeles to target their clients’ goals together in a holistic way.
Dr. Valasek started her career and developed her expertise as a clinical faculty member at the University of Southern California. While there, she had the pleasure of working with university students, faculty, staff, and community members to create health-promoting habits and routines. Her services addressed a range of chronic conditions, including anxiety, depression, addiction, insomnia, obesity, diabetes, migraines, and chronic pain. In addition to her direct clinical work, she taught graduate-level occupational therapy courses; developed programming around ADHD, self-regulation, medical student wellness, and tobacco/alcohol cessation; and was involved in multiple inter-professional clinics.

About the Speaker: Carlin Daley Reaume, OTD, OTR/L, DipACLM
Dr. Carlin Daley Reaume is a licensed occupational therapist with a board certification in Lifestyle Medicine (DipACLM) and additional specialty certifications in Pilates, Pregnancy & Postpartum Corrective Exercise (PCES), and Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C). Dr. Reaume is also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200), and a graduate of Loyola Marymount University’s Yoga Therapy RX Certificate Program. After completing both her Master’s and Doctorate at the University of Southern California, she has created a career weaving together her background in Lifestyle Redesign, mental health, mindfulness and movement in order to forge her own path in a variety of non-traditional OT settings including workplace wellness, college student mental health, and maternal wellness. She launched her private practice, Supported Mama, in 2020 with the goal of helping women reconnect to their bodies after pregnancy in a way that supports both physical and mental wellbeing. Dr. Reaume is an Assistant Clinical Professor within the Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program at the University of the Pacific in Sacramento, California and currently serves as the Advocacy & Government Affairs Committee Chair for the Occupational Therapy Association of California.
Leveraging Lifestyle Medicine for Occupational Therapy’s Expansion of Lifestyle-Based Services

About the Speaker: Christy Billock PhD, OTR/L, DipACLM
Dr. Christy Billock is a licensed occupational therapist and holds a PhD in Occupational Science from the University of Southern California where her dissertation focused on women’s experiences of spirituality in everyday life. She was a professor for 24 years where questions of meaning, the science of well-being and health, and how it all relates to what we do every day influenced her teaching and scholarship. She currently has a private practice focused on conscious living and dying where she helps others utilize a whole health approach for optimal mental, physical, and spiritual health and well-being. Dr. Billock is a board-certified diplomate of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine as well as being a conscious dying coach and death doula. She is the founding co-chair of the American Occupational Therapy Association’s Lifestyle Management Community of Practice.
Dr. Billock has spoken at numerous state, regional, national, and international professional conferences and has published on a variety of topics. She is the recipient of numerous awards including, most recently, the 2022 California Foundation for Occupational Therapy Honored Lectureship and the 2020 Occupational Therapy Association of California Award of Excellence.
Optimizing Occupations, Habits, and Routines for Health and Well-being: An Overview of the Lifestyle Redesign Intervention Framework

In this 1-hour webinar, authors Dr. Beth Pyatak and Dr. Chantelle Rice Collins will lead participants in a deep dive into their recent publication “Optimizing Occupations, Habits, and Routines for Health and Well-Being With Lifestyle Redesign: A Synthesis and Scoping Review”. The speakers will outline the Lifestyle Redesign intervention framework’s core characteristics and draw upon a case study to illustrate the application of Lifestyle Redesign in clinical practice, including an overview of the findings from evaluation, long term goal setting, treatment topics addressed, and outcomes from treatment. In addition, the speakers will highlight key findings from the scoping review conducted for this publication, showcasing the intervention’s adaptability in its application across diverse populations and settings.
