Healthtech Makerspace

Mission Statement

Our makerspace encourages USC students, faculty, and community to explore advanced technology and design, driving innovation in assistive devices. Rooted in innovation, accessibility, creativity, and patient-centered design, we provide hands-on training in 3D printing, 3D modeling, coding, and Arduino technology, fostering user-driven solutions adaptable to individualized needs. By equipping future and current clinicians with the skills to design adaptable assistive devices, we bridge the gap between technology and patient care, inspiring creative problem-solving in healthcare. Our long-term vision is to sustain and expand this makerspace, continuously evolving as a hub for medical innovation and collaboration.

Who We Are

We are a cutting-edge healthtech makerspace at USC, dedicated to empowering clinical students and faculty with the skills and tools to drive innovation in medical device design. Our space serves as a hub where creativity, technology, and healthcare intersect to create meaningful change.

What We Do

  • Provide one-on-one training in 3D printing, coding, and medical device modeling
  • Support user-driven design to meet the individualized needs of patients and clinicians
  • Offer a collaborative space for students and faculty to explore and create new medical innovations
  • Bridge the gap between engineering, design, and healthcare to drive real-world impact

Why It Matters

By equipping future and current clinicians with design and prototyping skills, we empower them to create adaptable solutions that enhance patient care. Our work enables healthcare professionals to innovate beyond traditional methods, helping them integrate customized and practical solutions into their medical practice.

Our Vision

We aim to sustain and expand this makerspace, continuously evolving as a hub for medical innovation and collaboration. Through interdisciplinary teamwork and hands-on learning, we are shaping the future of medical device design, one prototype at a time!
