Lifestyle Redesign®
Applying for & Maintaining Certification

Initial Certification

The process of applying for initial Lifestyle Redesign Certification (LRC) includes 3 main steps, outlined below, as well as in Section 3.2 of the Certification Handbook.

Step 1 - Fulfill all LRC education and experience requirements

  1. Complete all requisite coursework - see Section 2.2 Requirements: Education.
  2. Submit a Lifestyle Redesign Certification Interest Form - this form must be completed before proceeding to the next steps.
  3. Complete the Mentored Practicum with a passing grade, then complete and upload the Lifestyle Redesign Candidate Agreement - see Section 6.1 Candidate and Certificate Agreements.
  4. Complete all practice hours and log hours using the Practice Hours Tracking Sheet - see Section 2.3 Requirements: Experience.
  5. Gather all supporting documentation (e.g., official or unofficial transcript(s), course completion certificate(s), Practice Hours Tracking Sheet).

Step 2 - Apply for eligibility to take the LRC Exam

  1. Complete a Request for Lifestyle Redesign Forms and Application form, and indicate on that you are requesting the LRC Examination Eligibility Application. The form link will be emailed to you.
  2. Complete the LRC Exam Eligibility Application form and pay the associated fee.
  3. Once approved, complete the LRC Certification Application and pay the associated fee.
  4. Take the LRC Exam at the next available offering.
  5. Receive notification regarding exam results via email.

Step 3 - Complete post-exam activities

The activities listed below are relevant to candidates who receive a passing score on the LRC Examination.

  1. Complete the LR Certification Questionnaire form (a personalized link to this form will be provided in the exam results email).
  2. Download and sign the Lifestyle Redesign Certification Agreement (download link can be found on the LR Certification Questionnaire form). Attach/upload the signed form to the LR Certification Questionnaire form before submitting the form. A blank agreement is available for review.
  3. Receive a welcome packet with your LRC certificate, renewal date, and other important information (e.g., instructions for accessing the Lifestyle Redesign Intervention Resources Database, and guidelines for using the Lifestyle Redesign certification mark)
  4. Start planning your activities for renewal (see Section 5. Certification Renewal)

Certification Renewal

Lifestyle Redesign Certification must be renewed every 5 years. Renewal requires that the following requirements are met:

Renewal requires an attestation that the above requirements have been met. A subset of renewal applications will be selected for random audit to verify compliance with the renewal requirements. If selected for random audit, certificants will have 30 days from the date of notification to provide evidence that they are in compliance with renewal requirements. Evidence of compliance should include the following:

Renewal notices will be sent 60 days before the certification expiration date. It is the responsibility of the certificant to ensure that renewal is completed promptly before the certification expiration date. If certification lapses, the certificant will be removed from the Lifestyle Redesign provider database, will lose access to the Lifestyle Redesign resource database, and must remove any public-facing materials indicating their status as a Lifestyle Redesign Certified practitioner.
