Students are encouraged to apply for scholarships, fellowships, and grants awarded by/through USC and other outside bodies. Each has a different application process, so you should contact the appropriate department for award criteria and applications.

180 Medical is a leading urologic catheter supplier in the US; this scholarship is to help young adults get a quality education despite their medical hardships. The Agnes Jones Jackson Scholarship was established in the memory of the late Agnes Jones Jackson, who was a long time NAACP member from the San Francisco branch. more

American Association of University Women

AAUW has a long and distinguished history of advancing educational and professional opportunities for women in the United States and around the globe. more

American Association on Health and Disability

AAHD Scholarship Program supports students with disabilities who are pursuing higher education. Preference will be given to students majoring in a field related to disability and health. more

American Occupational Therapy Foundation

AOTF scholarship that is focused on investing in the future of the profession through providing various scholarships. It was established in 1965 and has formed multiple partnerships with individual state associations to help grant more scholarships. more

AOTA E. K. Wise Scholarship Fund

The E. K. Wise Scholarship Fund administered by the American Occupational Therapy Association. more

Asian Pacific Alumni Association Scholarship

Consisting of 27 named awards, the USC Asian Pacific Alumni Association (APAA) Scholarship Program recipients are selected on the basis of academic achievement, personal merit, demonstration of financial need and contributions made to Asian Pacific American communities. more

Association on American Indian Affairs Scholarship

Association on American Indian Affairs (AAIA) is the oldest non-profit serving Indian Country protecting sovereignty, preserving culture, educating youth and building capacity. They offer a scholarship program for Native American students seeking an Associate’s degree or higher. more

Black Alumni Association Scholarship

The USC Black Alumni Association scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis of academic and personal merit and demonstrated involvement within the African-American community. Please see website for application, volunteer hours/other requirements, and renewal process. more

Byron Hanke Fellowship

Available to graduate students working on topics related to community associations. Fellows are expected to prepare a research paper on community associations; papers have come from a wide range of academic disciplines. more

California Foundation for Occupational Therapy (CFOT)

Scholarships to OT students and traineeships for OTA students. 14 scholarships are awarded annually. more

Charlotte W. Newcombe Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship

Designed to encourage original and significant study of ethical or religious values in all fields of humanities and social sciences, this fellowship helps PhD candidates complete their dissertation. Applicants should be writing dissertation on topics where ethical and religious values are of central concern. more

Daughters of the American Revolution Occupational/Physical Therapy Scholarship

The DAR organization is comprised of women who honor their heritage and make a difference in their community. This scholarship may not be offered for the current school year. Email and check the website for more information. more

Dr. Rodolfo Montes Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is to honor the spirit of a self-made man, Dr. Rodolfo Montes — a USC School of Dentistry alumnus, who worked hard for his community and who valued the notion of giving people the resources to help themselves. more

Easter Seals South Carolina Foundation Scholarship

Easter Seals South Carolina offers some educational scholarships to deserving disabled students who desire to complete their college education and become productive citizens. Gates Millennium Scholarship

Applicants are chosen based on academic achievement, community service, and leadership potential. Award is renewable contingent upon academic progress and graduate school funding is available for continuing Gates Millennium Scholars. more

Haynes Foundation — Doctoral Dissertation Fellowships

The fellowships are competitive and are awarded to students whose dissertation proposals have been approved and which address economic, social, policy or political problems of the Los Angeles area. Please see website for specific application guidelines. more

Health Professions Education Foundation Allied Healthcare Scholarship (AHS)

Awardee must commit to a one-year service obligation or 100–150 hours volunteer service practicing direct care in a medically underserved area of California. Applicant must mail in an application packet containing official transcript(s), a personal statement, two letters of recommendation, a graduation date verification form, current SAR/federal tax return and W-2, and copy of cost of attendance. more

Hsiao Memorial Social Sciences Scholarship

Preference given to those whose journey parallels Dr. Hsiao’s who struggled to obtain his education in the midst of financial uncertainty as a young graduate student from China. more


Immigranted is a non-profit organization that provides interest-free micro-loans to first- and second-generation immigrants seeking or achieving higher education. Micro-loans will fund necessities that will support a student with higher education expenses. more

Institute for Diversity in Health Management Scholarship Programs

Applicants must demonstrate financial need, and a commitment to community service and academic excellence. The scholarship programs offered are the Diversified Investment Advisor Leaders in Healthcare Scholarship, Elliott C. Roberts Scholarship, and Cathy L. Brock Memorial Scholarship. more

Lambda LGBT Alumni Association Scholarship

USC Lambda is the LGBT Alumni Association for the University of Southern California, and the organization sponsors a number of scholarships (12 awards) each year to current or incoming LGBT and Ally USC students who are making a difference in the LGBT community. more

Latino Alumni Association Scholarship

Graduate scholars are for Master’s candidates only and limited awards for Juris Doctor & Medical Doctor candidates. This association funds students who are committed to the Latino community, and show leadership potential and exceptional academic and professional potential. more

LNESC Emergency Scholarship Fund

The LNESC Emergency Scholarship Fund is a joint partnership between LNESC and Macy’s to provide financial resources to deserving students facing economic hardship and immediate monetary need that, if not met, could result in an inability to complete classes or a degree program. more

Michael Moody Fitness Scholarships

Scholarship of $1,500 to a high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student who has demonstrated outstanding achievement, participation, and leadership in school activities and work experience, and interest in pursuing a career in the health and fitness related fields. more

National AMBUCS Scholarship

AMBUCS Inc. is a charitable service organization dedicated to creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities. more

National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) Scholarship Program

The NAHSE Scholarship program provides financial assistance to support minority students pursuing careers in health care management or a related field. more

National Black Occupational Therapy Caucus Frances Swift Scholarship Award

To provide financial incentive and encouragement to one student annually who is pursuing a career in Occupational Therapy. more

Norman Topping Student Aid Fund (NTSAF)

The Normal Topping Student Aid Fund is the only student-initiated, student-funded, primarily student-administered scholarship in the nation. It aims to develop a sense of community, empower scholars to provide quality programming and student-centered service, maintain the integrity of the Governing Board, and promote the spirit of the fund. more

Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans

Applicant must submit two essays, a resume, three letters of recommendation, and transcript(s). Application to be submitted online. more

Point Foundation: National LGBTQ Scholarship Fund

A student who must be “out” as a person who identifies as a member of the LGBTQ community. more

Provost’s PhD Fellowship Program

The Provost's PhD Fellowship Program is comprised of Provost's Fellowships and Provost's Diversity Fellowships. At least two years of funding will be in the form of fellowships, and the remaining years will consist of teaching/research assistantships. more

Research Gateway Scholar Program

The program prepares students for graduate school, research experiences, faculty mentorships, symposiums and conferences, and publishing opportunities. The program provides professional development and invaluable networking experiences. more

Rockwell Dennis Hunt Scholastic Award

Applicants must have completed at least three years of coursework at USC. Award given at USC Honors Convocation. Application downloadable from website. more

Skull and Dagger Foundation Scholarship

Two $2,500 awards will be given in memory of Dr. Kenneth Owler Smith. Each applicant must submit an application, one page letter of recommendation, and an unofficial copy of their transcript. Award is given to students who demonstrate campus and community leadership. more

Town and Gown of USC Scholarship

Town and Gown of USC is a non-profit philanthropic organization whose purpose is to support USC through scholarships. This is a merit-based scholarship that is awarded annually to solely ease the cost of tuition. more

United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals (UNAC/UHCP)

Ongoing program of scholarships available to students seeking health care professional degrees at an accredited institution located in Southern California. more

University Staff Club

Fifteen $1,000 awards will be given. Applicants are selected based on academic record, activities, service, future goals, and financial need. more

USC Global Scholar

Award is administered by the Office of Undergraduate Programs to recognize USC undergraduates who excelled academically while becoming world-citizens. Up to ten $10,000 awards offered. Students must submit a capstone project (criteria for each school available online) and a reflective essay. more

USC Graduate School Endowed Fellowships for PhD Students

The USC Graduate School Endowed Fellowship Competition is held yearly in the spring. Fellowships available are the Anna Bing Arnold Fellowships, Louis D. Beaumont Fellowship, Chen Fellowship, Morkovin Fellowship, Oakley Fellowship, and John Stauffer Fellowship. Eligibility differs based on specific fellowship. Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) Professional Student Exchange Program (Occupational Therapy)

For residents of Alaska, Arizona, Hawaii, Montana, and Wyoming. more

Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program

The Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program (YR) is a provision of the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008. This program allows degree granting institutions in the United States to voluntarily enter into an agreement with the VA to fund tuition and fees that exceed the VA’s base benefit. Please see USC Office of Veteran Affairs website for additional information.
Please note that this scholarship is not available for the 2019–2020 academic year, but will be available starting 2020–2021. more
