Theta is the first letter of the Greek word for therapeutic.
Epsilon is the first letter of the Greek word for occupation.
Membership
The Alpha Eta Chapter of Pi Theta Epsilon was established at USC in 1991. Candidates are selected for membership based upon their academic standing within the top 35% of their class (after two semesters of full-time study), their demonstrated leadership, and their scholarly attributes.
PTE at USC sponsors events throughout the academic year to promote student scholarship, showcase student and faculty research, and engage in interdisciplinary work.
Events
St. Catherine Challenge
Each year, Pi Theta Epsilon participates in the St. Catherine Challenge, a nationwide, student-led fundraiser. The money raised from events and merchandise sales goes directly to intervention research grants for occupational therapists, awarded through the American Occupational Therapy Foundation.
