Sue Bowles OTD, MBA, OTR/L is an adjunct associate professor of Clinical Occupational Therapy at the USC Mrs. T.H. Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy. With more than four decades of experience in clinical practice, healthcare leadership, and education, Dr. Bowles brings deep expertise in occupational therapy management, leadership development, and healthcare systems.

Dr. Bowles has held numerous leadership roles across major healthcare organizations, including Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Anthem Blue Cross, and served as Regional Director for Ancillary Care Strategies. Her work has focused on improving clinical operations, advancing documentation and reimbursement practices, and strengthening interdisciplinary care delivery.

At USC, she has been a dedicated educator since 2009, developing and teaching courses on leadership, entrepreneurship, and contemporary issues in occupational therapy. She is deeply committed to mentoring students and emerging professionals, supporting doctoral residents, and fostering innovative fieldwork opportunities.

A recognized speaker and educator, Dr. Bowles has delivered presentations nationally on topics such as leadership development, clinical documentation, reimbursement strategies, and patient communication. Her scholarship and professional contributions reflect a commitment to advancing best practices in occupational therapy and healthcare leadership.

Dr. Bowles is an active member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and the Occupational Therapy Association of California, and has contributed extensively to professional service, including committee leadership and scholarship review. Her longstanding community engagement includes board leadership with the YMCA, where she has been recognized for distinguished service.
