Ashly King OTD, OTR/L, CLT

Assistant Professor of Clinical Occupational Therapy

Keck Hospital

Ashly King OTD, OTR/L, CLT is an occupational therapist specializing in adult rehabilitation, oncology, and lymphedema prevention and management. She earned her Bachelor of Science from California State University, Northridge, and completed her doctoral training at the USC Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy. As a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT), Dr. King provides client-centered care for individuals at risk of developing lymphedema as well as those living with the condition. Her practice emphasizes prevention, early intervention, and evidence-based management strategies that enable patients to participate fully in meaningful daily activities.

Dr. King’s clinical interests were shaped through her occupational therapy residency at Keck Hospital of USC, where she fostered a passion for adult rehabilitation, interdisciplinary collaboration, program development, and clinical education. Earlier experiences with UCLA Health as an outpatient rehabilitation aide provided mentorship in patient-centered care, occupation-based interventions, adaptive equipment, clinical leadership, and healthcare administration. She also gained experience through fieldwork across a variety of healthcare settings: at Providence Saint John’s Health Center, OPICA Adult Day Program, and Gateways Hospital and Mental Health Center, and volunteering with the Santa Monica College Post-Stroke Pathfinders Program and the Acquired Brain Injury Program.

Beyond her clinical work, Dr. King serves on the scholarship board for the Girls Academic Leadership Academy (GALA) of the Dr. Michelle King School for STEM, helping recognize and support graduating seniors who exemplify the spirit of Dr. Michelle King through scholarships that assist with their college education.
