The project aims to learn how the effects of emergent work intersect with workers’ ability to flourish and live meaningful lives as productive individuals in their communities. He will complete an integrative investigation of objective and subjective facets of emerging work modes and worker health and well-being as a foundation for a future research career in addressing health disparities in minoritized worker populations with disproportionate chronic disease burdens. The project will use data from a California worker database (n=4,104) to identify classes of emergent work and characterize the workers engaged in each type, then explore workers’ distinct health and well-being needs within these emergent work classes using the database and prospectively collected data obtained through qualitative methods.
