Myka Persson double majored in English (Creative Writing emphasis) and Neuroscience at USC. She then pursued her master’s degree in occupational therapy at USC. She developed expertise in Lifestyle Redesign® at the USC Occupational Therapy Faculty Practice and in education while completing her clinical Occupational Therapy Doctorate degree. Her doctoral work focused on contributing to curriculum development and teaching in foundational occupational therapy courses. Dr. Persson worked as a therapist at the OT Faculty Practice for several years and focused on working with the college student population. She has also worked in early intervention with children with developmental delays and disabilities.
Dr. Persson currently teaches in the professional program, as well as in the minor and prerequisite courses. She acts as co-advisor for the USC Alpha Eta chapter of Pi Theta Epsilon national occupational therapy honor society and is currently a Faculty Resident at USC’s Pardee Tower in the South Residential College.
