Curriculum Vitae
Ella Wilson completed her doctoral residency in occupational therapy at Keck Medicine of USC, where she specialized in two outpatient populations with complex but distinct health problems — patients with advanced pulmonary disease pursuing or undergoing lung transplantation, and individuals with Post-Covid Syndrome (“Long Covid”) — using a blended model of Lifestyle Redesign® and physical rehabilitation both online and in-person. She also provided primary care occupational therapy consultation services and served as a key interdisciplinary team member within the Covid Recovery Clinic at Keck Medical Center. Throughout residency she participated in various knowledge mobilization efforts, such as delivering national occupational therapy-provider education, sponsored by the American Occupational Therapy Association, creating patient education materials for use by occupational therapists and physicians, and presenting on hospital-based considerations for Post-Covid Syndrome within the Keck Medicine occupational therapy department. Her clinical and didactic training through the AOTA Physical Rehabilitation Fellowship further provided her with an in-depth understanding of how body systems and functions drive upstream barriers to occupational participation, within the acute care setting and throughout the post-acute care recovery course.
As a clinical faculty member in the occupational therapy department at Keck Medicine of USC, Ella works across the continuum of care, primarily in the acute rehabilitation unit and outpatient rehabilitation. She has also presented on a state and national level on OT’s role in the lung transplant and post-covid populations.
