Rob Russow received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign and worked for several years as a reporter, traveling around the United States covering outdoor sporting events, before becoming an occupational therapist. During both his Master of Arts (MA) in Occupational Therapy and Doctorate of Occupational Therapy (OTD) at the University of Southern California, Dr. Russow pursued his interest in teaching and pedagogy, utilizing learner-centered teaching methods in courses he taught for his residency.

Dr. Russow has spent his professional career as an occupational therapist in community-based areas of practice with older adults, specifically with home health and Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) models, where he mentored students interested in geriatrics. He is passionate about fall prevention, home modifications, and working with persons who have various levels of cognitive impairment to help them stay safe in the community. In his free time, Dr. Russow enjoys occupations such as reading voraciously, taking care of his fruit trees, camping and kayaking, and baking for his students.

He is Co-Chair of the Student Leadership Committee for the Occupational Therapy Association of California (OTAC).
