The primary objective of this proposed project is to establish USC as a world leader in the use of virtual technologies for healthcare, through the expansion of the USC SensoriMotor Assessment and Rehabilitation Training in Virtual Reality Center (USC SMART-VR Center), a multidisciplinary center that was established in 2018 to bring together world-class innovators across the fields of biokinesiology, computer science, engineering, neuroscience, behavioral change, and rehabilitation to study and develop VR interventions for healthcare.

Additional participating faculty from the Chan Division include Dr. Jess Holguin, Dr. John Margetis, Dr. Stacey Schepens Niemiec, and Dr. Lisa Aziz-Zadeh.
