The USC Occupational Therapy Division is seeking a skilled Web Developer III to lead the design, development, and implementation of front-end and back-end web software. This role involves ensuring website functionality, security, and user experience while guiding junior staff and collaborating across teams. The Web Developer III is a key player in driving web-based innovations and maintaining USC’s standards for technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead development efforts and provide architectural guidance for migrating existing features to the web-based platform.
  • Establish project plans, schedules, and staffing requirements; monitor progress and deliver status reports.
  • Design and implement complex web systems independently, conducting object-oriented analysis as needed.
  • Communicate and enforce web-based best practices, design patterns, and usability standards.
  • Resolve technical issues, address bugs, and update content, including creating graphics and multimedia as needed.
  • Implement protocols for website security and ensure system stability.
  • Stay updated on new web technologies, contributing innovative solutions and sharing knowledge with the team.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Experience: Minimum of 4-5 years in web development with experience in both front-end and back-end design.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, web servers, content management systems, search engine optimization, and usability engineering.
  • Ability to guide junior staff and collaborate across departments.

The annual salary range for this position is $102,576.72 - 120,000.00. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
