Jowy Cenat OTD ’26

Jowy Cenat OTD ’26

Hometown: Queens, NYC
Program: Entry-Level Doctorate (OTD), Class of 2026

What are some of the occupations you engage in?
They include going to a cafe, spending time outdoors, getting lost on an adventure.

If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?
I’ve come to realize that the best place to be is right here, right now. I’ve traveled the seven seas, I’ve been to dozens of countries, Spain, Germany Iceland, France, etc., but i must say being home in NYC, with a cup of hot chocolate and overlooking downtown during a snowstorm is breathtaking. But overall, I think I prefer the lifestyle of Europe.

What’s a life lesson that you’ve learned from experience?
Advocate for yourself. If you need an extension on a deadline, negotiating a salary, or setting boundaries in a relationship, being able to communicate and stand up for yourself is important. Learning to say “no thanks,” without feeling guilty, is like a cheat code — it saves you so much time, energy, and stress.

Whats something you tried once and instantly knew it wasn’t for you?
Rollerskating — just isn’t for me.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Enjoy the “process.” It may be difficult for a moment; remember, the storm will soon pass.
