Wayne L. Hinthorn went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on the morning of Sept. 27, 2018.

Born July 25, 1928, in Canon City, Colo., Wayne was the second son of Clinton B. Hinthorn and Gertrude D. Hinthorn. His brother James passed away in 1984.

Wayne graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1946. In 1951, Wayne graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder, with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Wayne served in the Army, and was stationed in Germany, from 1953 to 1955. In 1979, Wayne received a master’s degree in systems management from the University of Southern California. Wayne’s career was spent in the aerospace industry, where he worked on many programs including the B-47 bomber, the Agena, the Titan III space booster and on the space shuttle program.

The love of Wayne’s life was his wife, Micky Terzagian Hinthorn, an occupational therapist who preceded him in death in 2009. They were married 51 years. Wayne and Micky loved living on the coast, and together they supported many causes, including Community United Methodist Church. Wayne honored Micky after her death by serving for many years on the board of councilors in the Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy Division of University of Southern California.
