Miriam Brown MA ’19
Hometown: San Jose, CA
Program: Entry-Level Master’s, Class of 2019
What brought you to occupational therapy?
I always knew I wanted to have a career in the health field. Initially I was interested in becoming a pediatrician, yet I quickly realized medical school wasn’t for me. A family friend who’s an OT opened my eyes to the field when I was in high school and I was sold after learning how versatile OT was!
What area of practice are you interested in?
I’ve always loved working with children. I’m still interested in pediatrics, specifically sensory integration, yet this program has opened my eyes to the many possibilities and different areas of practice so I’m still open!
What are some of the occupations you engage in?
I love to dance, hike, travel, shop, spend time with family and friends and go to the beach!
What song can you sing entirely by heart?
Anything Beyoncé. She’s my hero.
