Sheridan Lamb MA ’19
Hometown: Phoenix, AZ
Program: Entry-Level Master’s, Class of 2019
What brought you to occupational therapy?
I started out in Special Education and decided it wasn’t right for me. When I learned about OT through my connections through Special Education, I decided a job that allowed me to work with a wide range of people with a wide range of abilities while being able to use creative thinking and problem solving was something I would want to wake up and do every day.
Describe your background before coming to occupational therapy.
I have a Bachelor’s in Special Education and a Minor in studio art (for fun) from Seattle Pacific University. After graduation, I worked in a Medically Fragile classroom in the Seattle School District for two years and absolutely loved the experience.
What are some of the occupations you engage in?
Drawing, painting, hiking, reading, and petting dogs and cats.
If we opened your fridge, what would we see?
My three things I must have at all times are peanut butter, dark chocolate, and mustard. They are the staples of my diet. Other than that you’d probably find some fruit, spinach, zucchini, ground turkey, string cheese, sparkling water, and almond milk.
How do you want to be remembered?
I would like to be remembered as someone who would look for the positivity in every situation and always try to do the right thing at every opportunity.
