What brought you to occupational therapy?
My health took an unexpected dive and I have been diagnosed with a few chronic illnesses since then. I realized through these experiences how important it is to be able to do the tasks that are meaningful. From the community and my own experiences, I’ve learned that there is still so much potential to better empower others and improve quality of life. I want to help others thrive not just survive.
What area of practice are you interested in?
I’m interested in working with the disabled, chronically ill, and trauma communities. As both communities, I have observed, are frequently comorbid diagnoses. Specifically, I am interested in empowering individuals with c-PTSD and MCAS, EDS, POTS trifecta populations while upholding the values of advocacy, equity, and justice.
What are some of the occupations you engage in?
Singing, board games, dnd, documentaries, and spending time with friends!
If you could be immortal, what age would you choose to stop aging at and why?
I think I would want to be like a phoenix able to be reborn, age through life, die, rinse, & repeat. I feel like every stage of human development is rich and complex in its own ways. Each age has its own pros and cons. I’d love to be able to re-experience each aspect of life to better empathize with others.
If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?
I think unobtrusively traveling back in time would be interesting to gain a firsthand experience of what happened in history and how that story has been passed down.
