Shreya Shah MA ’22

Hometown: Mumbai, India
Program: Post-Professional Master’s, Class of 2022

What brought you to occupational therapy?
To be honest, my entrance exam merit score brought me to Occupational therapy. OT is still an emerging profession in India and it did not have much demand back then 6 years ago. I chose this profession without any direction. As confused as I was back then about what it exactly was, I am very proud of my choice today!

What area of practice are you interested in?
Adult Neuro Rehabilitation and Lifestyle Redesign.

What are some of the occupations you engage in?
Making meals for my roommates, eating spicy food, spending quality time with my family and friends, and practicing meditation. I would also like to start reading the first novel I bought after moving to LA in my free time during winter break!

If you were famous, what would you be famous for?
I would be famous for roasting (making fun) my friends and not knowing when to stop. Back in India, my friends and I used to have competitions on who could roast each other better.

You have your own late night talk show, who do you invite as your first guest?
Without any doubt, I would invite BTS, my favorite boy band, as the first guest! BTS covers subjects that other bands may not like bullying, elitism, and mental health. Their ability to be relatable, humble while still being entertaining is rare which would make me famous too; haha!
