Megan Price OTD ’22

Megan Price OTD ’22

Hometown: Dallas, TX
Program: Post-Professional OTD, Class of 2022

What brought you to occupational therapy?
I knew I always wanted to work with kids, but I didn’t know in what capacity. In high school, I began shadowing teachers but didn’t feel the calling. It was my mom who suggested OT because my Aunt is a COTA and works in a school district. I then shadowed a local OT, saw a child operate a switch for the first time, and I was hooked! I haven’t looked back since!

What area of practice are you interested in?
I currently practice in 3 different areas: Pediatrics with a Sensory Integration focus, Hippotherapy, and geriatric home health. I love covering the lifespan and having each working day different from the next.

How do you plan to use Occupational Therapy in the future?
I hope to use the Occupational Therapy Doctorate to increase my clinical expertise, and to develop hippotherapy programs to serve a low-income area in Dallas, Texas.

If you could be immortal, what age would you choose to stop aging at and why?
I love the age I’m at, I don’t feel too far removed from the fun in my 20s, I love being a mom and having some adult responsibilities, and I don’t have the aches and pains of getting older . . . yet.

If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?
Cappadocia, Turkey.
