What brought you to occupational therapy?
I was graduating from undergrad not knowing exactly what my next steps were going to be when a good family friend kept persisting I come visit her at work. All I knew was that she loved her job and worked with kids! After visiting her for one day at her OT outpatient pediatric clinic, I was in love! I was interested in both physical rehabilitation and mental health so occupational therapy was/is perfect!

What area of practice are you interested in?
Pediatrics! I’m specifically interested in combining my knowledge and passion for gymnastics with children with developmental disabilities.

Tell us about your favorite memory from the program so far.
One of my favorite memories from the program is the opportunity I had to complete my Leadership Externship at Chiang Mai University in Thailand! I spent two weeks working with CMU’s Occupational Therapy Program and got to learn and see what occupational therapy looks like in a variety of clinical settings in Thailand. I also loved getting to exchange information with the students and professors at the university. It was an incredible and eye opening experience!

If we opened your fridge, what would we see?
AVOCADOS!

How do you want to be remembered?
I believe one of my favorite quotes answers this question well, “I want to inspire people. I want someone to look at me and say, ‘Because of you I didn’t give up.’”
