Trevor San Antonio MA ’20

Trevor San Antonio MA ’20

Hometown: St. Petersburg, FL
Program: Entry-Level Master’s, Class of 2020

What brought you to occupational therapy?
I loosely chose Physician Assistant as my career path when I entered undergrad. I went to a health panel my first fall semester in order to learn more about PA, but a PA representative was not present. I decided to look at other health professions and one of those was Occupational Therapy. I fell in love with the fact that I could have an impact on an individual’s ability to engage in their occupations all while being able to express my creativity.

What area of practice are you interested in?
Right now I’m interested in Adult Rehab, specifically Hands/Upper Extremities.

What are some of the occupations you engage in?
I’ve always been interested in art and design. So I’ve been doing graphic design on the side whenever I have free time. I’m also happy that I get to express my creativity in my Creativity, Crafts and Activity Analysis class since it’s one of my goals to explore new forms of art. Some other occupations I enjoy include watching movies, traveling, hiking, going to music festivals, and trying new food places around the area.

If your childhood had a smell, what would it be?
Pandesal, coffee, and pizza rolls!

If you could visit any time in history, where would you go and why?
I’ve really been into the ’80s ever since that decade rose into popularity over the last few years, so probably sometime in that period.

What are some small things that make your day better?
Having lunch with the friends I’ve made in the program.

Note: Trevor is now Assistant Professor of Clinical Occupational Therapy in the Chan division.
