Angela Pogossian OS Minor ’19

Angela Pogossian OS Minor ’19

Hometown: Glendale, California
Program: Minor in Occupational Science, Class of 2019

Major: Health Promotion and Disease Prevention

What brought you to USC?
Having an interest in health and well-being, I was attracted to USC’s unique Health Promotion and Disease Prevention program. With various courses in diverse areas of health, I knew I would gain a better understanding of the biopsychosocial factors of overall well-being.

What made you decide to pursue the occupational science minor?
Beginning a new academic chapter at USC, I knew I wanted to pursue a career dedicated to helping others. I knew a little bit about occupational therapy, therefore, I decided to pursue the OS minor in hopes of gaining more background into the field. My first day of class in OT250 was when I realized OT is where I want to be!

What are some of the occupations you engage in?
Even before I was tall enough to reach our kitchen countertops, I found comfort in baking sweet treats for my family. I continue to do so today, along with cooking, exercising, reading, traveling and watching Friends.

What song can you sing entirely by heart?
Journey — Don’t Stop Believing.

What are some small things that make your day better?
Sharing smiles with strangers, when the sun is out, and having time to workout.
