Dolly Chowdhury OS Minor ’20

Hometown: Simi Valley, CA
Program: Minor in Occupational Science, Class of 2020

Major: Biochemistry

What brought you to USC?
After visiting USC for the first time, I knew this was the school I wanted to attend! I fell in love with the beautiful campus, was amazed by the variety of programs they offered, and instantly was connected to the Trojan family.

What are some of the occupations you engage in?
I am involved in many occupations both on and off campus. I play soccer with other USC students on the weekdays, go sailing on some weekends in Long Beach, enjoy hiking with my friends in the LA community, and like to read occasionally when I am not studying for my classes.

Describe your favorite occupational science minor course.
One of my favorite OS classes had been OT 280, called the Essential Occupations of Emerging Adulthood. This course had taught me many life skills that I can apply to my years both in college and afterwards. I have learned many skills, such as learning how to take care of my finances, how to buy a home, and how to choose the best job for me.

If your childhood had a smell, what would it be?
It would be the smell of ice cream. I have always enjoyed spending my free time at the beach and would always like buying freshly made ice cream at the harbor.

What are some small thing that make your day better?
Spending time with my friends and meeting new people!
