What brought you to USC?
I immediately fell in love with USC when I first visited as an admitted student. I’ve always wanted to attend a big research university in a city that reminded me of home and Los Angeles happened to be the perfect place! I was also attracted to USC’s various opportunities that support both my academic and personal interests.

What made you decide to pursue the occupational science minor?
I found out about OT during an RA program back in my freshman year when Dr. Eggleston was invited as a guest speaker and led a creativity workshop session. I wanted to learn more about the profession so I decided to take OT 250 and OT 310 spring semester of freshman year. I absolutely loved it and added the occupational science minor, one of the best decisions I made at USC. I got to take some very interesting courses with amazing professors and I’m looking forward to taking more in the future!

What are some of the occupations you engage in?
I love playing the violin, my favorite occupation since I was six. The instrument boosts my happiness and helps me reach flow, so I often end up playing for hours without even realizing! Other occupations that I love to engage in are traveling, running, journaling and eating spicy food.

If you could visit any time in history, where would you go and why?
I would love to go back to the early 1800s to see one of the most famous violinists in Western music history, Niccolo Paganini, perform live on stage in Italy. I’ve always admired his 24 Caprices that are extremely challenging to play and as someone who is passionate about playing the violin, it would be an unforgettable experience to see the virtuoso in person, since recordings didn’t exist back in his time.

What are some small things that make your day better?
When I introduce myself and people remember my name correctly!
