Miel Krauss OS Minor ’19

Miel Krauss OS Minor ’19

Hometown: Kailua-Kona, HI
Program: Minor in Occupational Science, Class of 2019

Major: Cognitive Science

What brought you to USC?
Growing up in a small town, I always knew that I wanted to move to a big city one day. And when I visited USC I fell in love with the school, as well as the diversity and endless possibilities that Los Angeles had to offer.

What made you decide to pursue the occupational science minor?
I randomly decided to take two OT courses one semester to complete more units, and I loved everything about them, from the structure of the classes to the content we were learning and engaging with. After that I continued to take OT courses and then finally made the decision to add the minor once I decided that Occupational Therapy was my calling.

What are some of the occupations you engage in?
I love dancing, which I started doing around four years old. Reading has always been a passion of mine as well. And whenever I can find the time and energy, I love to go on hikes to clear my mind and reconnect with nature.

What song can you sing entirely by heart?
Ain’t No Reason by Brett Dennen. (My ultimate favorite song!)

If you could visit any time in history, where would you go and why?
I think it would be incredible to go back and find out what truly wiped out the dinosaurs. (As long as I don’t get wiped out along with them!)
