Piper Shaw OS Minor ’18

Piper Shaw OS Minor ’18

Hometown: Scottsdale, AZ
Program: Minor in Occupational Science, Class of 2018

What brought you to USC?
The work hard, play hard mentality!

What made you decide to pursue the occupational science minor?
After taking some OT classes just for fun, I realized I had a true passion for helping people of all ages and abilities to engage in activities they enjoy and achieve balance in their life.

Describe your favorite occupational science minor course.
In OT 310, Creativity Workshop, we learned how engaging your creative mind can help enhance your life in many ways. Just a few examples of how we did this was by playing with clay, doing theater games, and working on an individual semester-long creative project of our choice. As an accounting major, I almost never give myself the time for creative activities, and this course definitely showed me how important and fulfilling creative acts can be!

If your childhood had a smell, what would it be?
Crayola crayons! My mom can attest that I spent hours and hours coloring as a child.

If you could visit any time in history, where would you go and why?
As a big fan of F. Scott Fitzgerald, I would love to visit the US during the Roaring ’20s.
