What do you like about occupational therapy?
I like the fundamental client-centered concept in occupational therapy since it really values the client’s thoughts and condition. I also like how occupational therapists use occupations as both means and ends to treat patients and help them regain function.

What is the focus of your current residency?
In my clinical residency site (Keck Hospital’s hand clinic), I usually assist in hand therapy evaluation, treatment, and splint making. In my research residency site (MSOP Lab), I’m assisting in a research project focused on sonography images of the median nerve.

How do you plan to advance OT in China?
I want to do evidence-based OT practice in a Chinese hospital and develop an OT-related research project in order to provide practice-based evidence on OT in a clinical context. I also want to enhance communication between OT and other medical professionals in addition to promoting OT’s position in interdisciplinary work.

What are your favorite occupation(s)?
I enjoy exercising, especially working out and dancing because they make me feel energetic and healthy. I also like learning to cook, which enables me to enter a mindful state and feel fulfilled when I cook a dish successfully.
