Assistant Professor Alison Cogan MA ’12, PhD ’17 has been named the 2024 recipient of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine’s Deborah L. Wilkerson Early Career Award. Cogan will receive the award during the ACRM 101st Annual Fall Conference in November.
The award recognizes those who have made significant contributions to rehabilitation research during the first five years of their career following completion of their training.
“It is such an honor to be recognized by my interdisciplinary colleagues at ACRM with this award,” Cogan said. “I have been very fortunate to work with outstanding mentors and collaborators on impactful rehabilitation research early in my career.“
As director of the Rehabilitation and Functional Recovery Studies in Health Services (ReFReSH) lab, Cogan’s scholarship aims to improve the quality of rehabilitation services by identifying what combinations of services work best for whom, in order to enable optimal functional performance and community participation for adults with acquired brain injury, including military service members and veterans.
