The USC Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy’s Global Initiatives office launched the Summer Occupational Therapy Immersion (SOTI) program in early February. SOTI is a four-week summer program specifically designed for international occupational therapists who are considering applying to, or have already been admitted to, the division’s master’s degree programs. The program aims to introduce students who have practiced abroad to occupational therapy practice in the United States and to provide them opportunities for strengthening English fluency and proficiency at the graduate-school level. The program is scheduled to run from July 14 through August 8, 2014.

“Our Division is immensely enriched by our international students, and Global Initiatives is fully committed to supporting their specific needs,” said Daniel Park, coordinator of the program. “Through the SOTI program, we hope that international therapists who wish to pursue further study in occupational therapy in the United States will gain the confidence go after their dreams.”
