On Jan. 7, the USC Chan Division began the process of building a new five-year strategic plan to guide its vision and mission, according to a Mar. 1 memo released by Associate Dean and Chair Grace Baranek.
“This comprehensive Strategic Plan will account for internal and external opportunities and challenges; for pressing questions affecting the occupational science discipline and the occupational therapy profession at large; and for contemporary issues in health care delivery, higher education pedagogy, and research excellence,” Baranek wrote.
The five-year strategic plan will be compiled in three phases, led by a steering committee that assesses the division’s current position, defines goals and ultimately leads to the plan’s implementation and any necessary modifications.
The memo also highlighted the importance of collaboration and participation, and invites faculty, staff, students, administrators and alumni to provide input and suggestions regarding the current status and future trajectory of the division. The new plan is expected to be completed prior to the Fall 2018 semester.
