The China Initiative team hosted the spring series of monthly seminars for the third cohort of USC-PKUHSC dual-degree students to supplement their mixed-track residencies across research and clinical settings. The monthly seminars provide valuable opportunities for peer mentorship and reflective practice and to translate the students’ US residency experiences to their future practice in China.

In planning the Spring 2024 seminars, the China Initiative team integrated student feedback from the Fall 2023 survey to improve on the content and delivery of Jamboard activities. A different set of questions was posted every month to match the seminar topic and facilitate future applications to China. Students discussed the questions in small groups and then wrote a key takeaway under each question on each other’s Jamboard. They took turns sharing one key takeaway from their peers in the large group discussion. These changes promoted an interactive learning environment and encouraged active listening between peers.
