Financial Aid
Students experiencing financial hardship / emergencies should reach out to the USC Chan Admissions Team for support in navigating various options for additional financial support.
The University of Southern California offers a number of financial aid resources, including FAFSA and work study applications. Most students who demonstrate financial need, and meet all eligibility requirements and deadlines, qualify for low-interest loans and work-study.
Please be patient about Financial Aid, since loans and awards are possibly still being processed. Please contact our liaisons at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or (323) 442-1016 with any questions you may have about financial aid. They will also be joining us during Orientation to answer questions in person. Please contact a member of our Admissions Team with questions related to division awards.
USC Graduate Student Government
The USC Graduate Student Government (GSG) offers several grants to support the professional and personal needs of graduate students. Funds include those for professional development activities, caretaker expenses, neuropsychological evaluation, and emergencies. Find more information on eligibility and the application process at the GSG Grants Portal.
Additional GSG supports include emergency resources (e.g., Trojan Food Pantry, Disabled Access to Road Transportation), health and wellness services (e.g., HIV testing, COVID-19), and free goods and services (e.g., NYTimes Subscription, free legal counseling).
USC Student Basic Needs
The USC Student Basic Needs department is another resource for information and supplemental funding to address student food, housing, and financial insecurity.
Scholarships and Student Worker Opportunities
Students are encouraged to apply for other scholarships, fellowships, and grants awarded by/through USC and outside bodies. Each has a different application process, so you should contact the appropriate department for award criteria and applications. USC Chan Division scholarships should have been applied for along with your admission application.
